Craving fried seafood? Whether you live in New England or you’re just visiting, be sure to check out these delicious and authentic New England seafood spots in your area!

Connecticut Seafood Restaurants

Abbott’s Lobster in the Rough (Groton, CT)

Grab yourself a perfectly steamed lobster, clam chowder, steamers, mussels, or a warm, buttered lobster roll at this classic New England restaurant. Enjoy the delicious food at the outdoor picnic tables with a beautiful waterfront view! If possible, save enough room for dessert- including New York cheesecake, strawberry shortcake, ice cream, and more!

Maine Seafood Restaurants

Maine Diner (Wells, ME)

You might not think such high quality seafood could come from a diner, but you’ll change your mind once you try the delicious (and famous) lobster pie. But don’t stop there! The Maine Diner has plenty of great menu items that will satisfy your seafood craving. And if you have any room left, be sure to order one of the scrumptious berry pies for dessert.

2265 Post Rd, Wells, ME 04090

Barnacle Billy’s (Ogunquit, ME)

From the beautiful location that overlooks Perkins Cove (a delightful harbor in Maine), to the wonderful seafood, Barnacle Billy’s has everything you could want when it comes to seafood dining! There are two locations right next to each other. For a more casual dinner experience, order at the window of the original Barnacle Billy’s, but if you’re looking to sit down, go to the full-service restaurant (with more menu options) at Barnacle Billy’s Etc.

50 Perkins Cove Rd, Ogunquit, ME 03907
(207) 646-5575

The Clam Shack (Kennebunkport, ME)

The perfect little spot for lunch! This popular spot in the center of Kennebunkport is home to some of the most delicious seafood items in New England such as fried clams and lobster rolls. Enjoy your food at a table inside the seafood market, or outside at a lobster trap table. There may be a line but it’s worth the wait!

Massachusetts Seafood Restaurants

The Clam Box (Ipswich, MA)

The exterior of The Clam Box… is the shape of an ACTUAL clam box! This alone should make a trip to this local favorite a must-see! They’re most famous for their fried clams, but don’t think that’s the only thing they have to offer. Everything else on the menu is just as good, like the scallops, oysters, and more! (Note: this place is very crowded during the summer, and the lines are long. While the staff does their best to move you along, be prepared for a wait. We hear it's worth the wait though.)

246 High St, Ipswich, MA 01938
(978) 356-9707

The Barking Crab (Boston, MA)

Situated right on the water with views of the Fort Point Channel, The Barking Crab has some of the best seafood in the city of Boston. The aesthetic screams authentic with its picnic tables, ocean decorations, and waterfront location! (Note: This is a fun restaurant with a great seafood menu. Hang out here after going to the Aquarium or seeing other sites in Boston.)

88 Sleeper St, Boston, MA 02210
(617) 426-2722

Woodman’s (Essex, MA)

Arguably the first clam shack in the country, Woodman’s knows how to make delicious seafood! From the fried clams to the lobster, anything you order will fulfill your seafood needs! Don’t miss your chance to check out the place that has been around since the early 1900s!  (Note: Woodman's is famous for dining in the rough -- wood picnic tables in a rustic setting make this a favorite spot for families. During the busy summer months there is often a waiting line outside, so be prepared for a wait if you arrive later in the day.

121 Main St, Essex, MA 01929

New Hampshire Seafood Restaurants

Markey’s Lobster Pool (Seabrook, NH)

Markey’s is the perfect summer dining experience for anyone with a craving for seafood! Enjoy these meals outdoors in the summer or inside during the winter as Markey’s is open year round.

Sit on the picnic tables along the water to get the full New England seafood experience.
